Praful sitting with a box he made

Meet Praful — The guy behind the saw.

I build custom wooden furniture and homeware from reclaimed timber - one piece at a time, in my small workshop based in Canberra. When I’m not working on one off pieces for customers, I’m designing, building and testing new ideas.

My Values

Sustainability

Where possible we use locally sourced reclaimed timber to build the furniture you love and admire, giving new life to materials with history while reducing our environmental footprint.

Quality

We’re passionate about thoughtful craftsmanship. We believe great furniture should be built to last. Every piece is crafted with care and precision designed to stand the test of time and be treasured for generations to come.

Respect

From collaborating with trusted local suppliers to working closely with our clients, we approach every project with respect and integrity. We’re committed to creating pieces our clients truly love and value for life.

What it’s like in the workshop?

The short answer: Cold.

The longer answer: I’m surrounded by timber older than me, all species have different smells and it’s always nice to work with a new species that I haven’t worked with before. As wood is a natural product, things don’t always go to plan, sometimes the wood splinters in the wrong place and I have to fix it in a discreetly, or it means the wood is used to make bottle openers or something smaller.

Usually there is more than one way to make a cut.

If you're curious about what happens from the sketches to the final product, you’ll probably enjoy the Journal/Instagram page; this is where I share in-progress builds, small experiments, and thoughts from the workshop floor.
